The Firenze Red Lions are proud to announce the addition of Dr. Federico Yañez Siller as Head of Medics & Team Orthopedic and Juan José “Polo” Vergara as Head of Physios, further strengthening the franchise’s medical and performance department ahead of the 2026 AFLE season.

Player health, injury prevention, and physical recovery are top priorities for our organization. For this reason, the arrival of two high-level professionals such as Dr. Yañez Siller and Polo Vergara represents a key step in building a modern sports structure focused on excellence.

Dr. Federico Yañez Siller, an orthopedic surgeon with extensive experience in professional sports, brings a high-level technical background developed in international environments and prestigious organizations, including the Barcelona Dragons. His expertise in sports medicine and elite athlete management represents an outstanding asset for our program.

Alongside him, Juan José “Polo” Vergara will take on the role of Head of Physios, focusing on functional physical preparation, muscle recovery, and daily athlete support to ensure peak performance throughout the season. His professionalism and attention to detail will be essential in keeping the roster in the best possible physical condition.

This new medical structure will allow the Firenze Red Lions to provide players with complete, top-level support, placing safety, performance, and well-being at the center of the project.
